What I’m Most Grateful For This Year… It’s Not The Deals

The Quiet Moment Before the Break

The past few weeks have been a blur in the best way possible.

We wrapped up our final Property Networking Events for the year, had an incredible Sunset Cruise with over 200 excited property people, closed out the final Inner Circle Mentoring session (that one’s always full of familiar faces and big energy) and finished with the last live Q&A recording for the Ultimate Property Hub.

When the dust finally settled, I sat for a moment in the quiet… That rare pause before Christmas and thought about how far this community has come.

Hundreds of conversations, new connections, lessons shared, deals done.
That’s when it hit me… This isn’t about property anymore.
It’s about people.

It Was Never Just About Property

When I first got into this game, I thought property was the vehicle to freedom.
But over time, I realised it’s the people who drive it.

Every project, every deal, every lesson – there’s always someone beside it: a planner, a JV partner, a mate who made an intro or a mentor who asked the right question at the right time.

You can learn all the spreadsheets and zoning codes you like but it’s the relationships and community that turn knowledge into confidence.

The Real Return on Investing

I’m grateful for the wins, sure, seeing members buy their first development site or finally wrap up a long-running subdivision never gets old… but what I’m most grateful for, is the way this community shows up for each other.

At every event, I see people sharing contacts, swapping ideas, offering advice or celebrating someone else’s win as if it were their own.

That doesn’t happen everywhere.

Property is a solo sport on paper but in reality it’s a team game and when you find your team, the game changes.

The Lessons That Keep Coming Back

This year reinforced a few truths I keep coming back to:

  1. Consistency beats intensity. One small step each week outperforms short bursts followed by long pauses.
  2. You get what you focus on. When you focus on learning and community, the deals follow.
  3. You don’t get this time back. So build wealth that supports your life not the other way around.
  4. Money is a tool, not a scoreboard. Use it to create choice and freedom but keep your eyes on the bigger picture.

Those reminders aren’t just for you – they’re for me too! I learn as much from this community as I teach.

Gratitude for You

If you’re reading this, you’ve been part of it – whether you’ve joined a networking night, attended the Sunset Cruise, watched a Q&A replay or just followed along quietly through the year.

You’re the reason this community works.

The energy, the curiosity, the kindness – that’s what makes this space different.

So thank you for showing up, for sharing what you know and for trusting me to be part of your journey.

Your Turn to Reflect

Before you switch off for Christmas, take a moment to look back.

Think about who helped you get through the year. The people who shared a tip, took your call or backed your idea when you weren’t sure it would work.

Send a message.
Say thanks.

That small moment of gratitude might be the highlight of someone else’s year.

Final Reflection

Property is how we connect but people are why we keep going.

This Christmas, I’m grateful for the conversations, the laughter, the packed rooms, the online sessions full of faces and the trust that makes this community so special.

Here’s to a restful break, good food and the people who make it all worth it.

Merry Christmas and thank you for being part of the Property Resource Shop family.
